The Subway Map In Seoul Is Easy To Use!!

At first glance of the subway map, my reaction was" wow it looked so complicated!". I believed for first-time DIY travellers to a city like Seoul, the map may overwhelm you too. The good news is that it is actually very easy to use!

A digital subway map at Myeongdong Station

The subway system consists of 9 lines and each line is colour-coded. Each station is also numbered. For example Myeongdong station number is 424 which means it is at line number 4 and is at the 24th stop of the line. Some stations have a little small korean logo which means they are interchange stations to another line. To find out how to go from one station to another, first find the line number of your departing station and then, find the position of your alighting station on the map. Finally, check the route on the map, which will take you from the current location to the destination. For more convenience, visit the link below to find a station by alphabetical order, see the full instructions to get to your destination and even find out the fare to get there.

The best thing about the subway is the convenience and ease of using it. The stations are labelled in hangul, english and even in chinese! At every station, the korean and english name of the station will be announced and shown on the LED screen inside the train. For buying and reloading the T-money card (works like our ezlink card), there are also instructions in japanese, english and chinese to choose from.

  That's it! Simple isn't it? :)
